Content | Topic of the Lecture : Content Analysis of Pet YouTube contents
Main Points of the Lecture : In the era of 10 million households raising companion animals, consumption of pet-related media contents is increasing, but the reality is that research on pet media content is lacking. In particular, existing research is focused on TV broadcasting-centered content and research on pet YouTube contents has been rarely done. Therefore, this study aims to examine the current status of pet YouTube content. Based on analysis of the pet YouTube types and content, we would like to discuss improvements and development directions. |

Content | Topic of the Lecture : Pet media content and Animal Protection
Main Points of the Lecture : As the population raising pets increases and interest in overall animal rights and animal welfare increases, the number of times the media deals with animals is also increasing. Although there is a growing tendency to treat animals as beings that coexist with humans and have value for life, not interesting objects, the media still has a long way to go in dealing with animal issues. The media is obliged to deal with structural problems for animals in depth. In particular, when the interests of animals and people conflict, the media should also consider the perspective of animals. I would like to say that the media should be more professional and careful when dealing with news about animals. |
