Busan Content Market 2021 Achieves Record High Performance
The 'Busan Content Market (BCM) 2021' has posted record-high performance.
The BCM Organizing Committee announced on the 26th that the BCM 2021, held online from November 3 to 12 and offline from November 10 to 12, attracted participants from 41 countries, including 351 companies and 541 domestic and international buyers & sellers, achieving consultation results of $175.43 million.
This year's theme was "Connecting the World with Content," and included events such as the BCM Conference, BCM Academy, BCM Global Pitching & Business Matching, and BCM Funding Explanation Meetings and Investment Agreement Ceremonies.
The BCM Conference, held live on November 10-11, featured eight sessions discussing global OTT platform trends, the development directions of domestic OTT platforms in response, and the rapidly growing new content realms of the metaverse, memes (MEME), and the present and future of NFTs through presentations and discussions.
The BCM Academy, under the theme "Content Strategy in the Era of OTT Wars," featured lectures by experts from Tving and JTBC. The Organizing Committee will provide VOD replays on the website until the end of November for students majoring in related fields and industry professionals.
BCM Funding provided one-on-one investment consultation spots with 24 operation managers from cultural content funds and domestic investment experts, introducing excellent content from domestic production companies to domestic and foreign buyers and inviting venture investment evaluators to share insights and investment plans for the video industry.
Drama production company Channel Okto and venture investment firm Korea Investment Partners signed a MOU for drama content production.
'BCM 2022' is scheduled to be held in May next year.
